What is DataSeal?

DataSeal is an automatic bulk data opt-out service, removing your information from the largest people search sites and data brokers across the web

How does DataSeal work?

DataSeal works by submitting opt-out requests on a users behalf to all of the sites listed on our "Sites We Cover" page. Once we submit the opt-out requests, we continuously monitor these sites and report the opt-out progress back to our users in the DataSeal user dashboard.

Will 100% of my data that is found be removed?

DataSeal can not guarantee 100% of records will be removed. Once we submit opt-out requests, the status of the record is in the hands of the data prover, and it is up to their discretion to honor the request or not. This is why DataSeal continually monitors records and manually verifies sites that have removed your data, in order to provide our users with the most transparent view possible of their data removal progress.

Do I need to provide photo-ID for DataSeal to remove my information??

No, DataSeal does not require any form of ID during our bulk data opt out. In general, DataSeal will never ask for information other than some basic identifying data such as name, email, age, and address. And we only ask for this information in order to locate your leaked information online

How do I track my information removal process?

In our dashboard, you will see every website that has contained or currently contains your personal information. Each website should have a designation regarding the opt out status — "Found”, ”Pending”, ”Removed”, ”Verified”.

Found – We have confirmed that your information is appearing on said site.
Pending – We completed the opt out process and are waiting for the website to remove your data.
Removed – Your data has been removed from the website.
Verified – One of our team members has manually confirmed that your data is no longer present on the website.

What websites does DataSeal’s automatic opt out cover?

DataSeal covers a wide range of websites, and our team is constantly looking for new websites that threaten your personal privacy. The sites we currently cover can be found one our sites we cover page.

Does DataSeal have humans working behind the scenes?

The majority of DataSeal’s bulk data opt-out is performed automatically, however our team manually confirms each opt-out after the fact to verify it was processed correctly.

Can my data reappear after it has been removed?

Yes, your unauthorized data can reappear on people search sites and data brokers, as these types of sites frequently update their databases with new records. DataSeal addresses this concern by scanning the websites we cover multiple times per week for your data.

Why does my data show up in Google search results after I opted myself out?

Even if the website has removed your information from their website, it can still take Google several days to remove the page from search results.

What are people search sites and data brokers?

People search site – A website that sells or distributes identifying information, focusing on individual sales rather than bulk.

Data Broker – A website/business that sells data in bulk to companies, who use this data for marketing campaigns.

What businesses do data breaches target?

Data breaches target websites/businesses with records containing both identifying data (name, email, address, phone number, Social Security Number, etc.) and account/payment information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.).

What else can I do to protect my online privacy?

Besides removing your information from people search sites and data brokers, reducing your presence on social media, deleting unnecessary online accounts, using encrypted emails, staying up to date on data breaches, and using a VPN are all ways to increase your online privacy. Pricing

Can I upgrade from a monthly plan to an annual plan at a later time?

Yes, you are allowed to change from our monthly plan to one of our annual plans whenever you choose to do so, however you are unable to convert your annual plan into a monthly plan until your subscriptions period is over.

Do I pay at the beginning or end of my subscription period?

All DataSeal plans require upfront payment for our services. We choose this method as we’ve found that a stronger commitment to our services produces greater results for our customers. For more information please refer to our Terms of Subscription.

What payment methods do you accept?

DataSeal accepts credit cards, debit cards, mobile wallets, and certain other options. Our payment process is securely handled through stripe, more information can be found on their website.
