Since InstantCheckFinder uses TruthFinder to run a search, opting-out of TruthFinder will remove your information from InstantCheckFinder. We recommend opting out of TruthFinder because you will be removed from both sites.
Step 1: Go to Truthfinder’s opt-out page and fill out the information on screen. Once finished, hit “SEARCH”.
Step 2: Find the record that contains your information. There may be several records with names similar to yours, so verify the record based of the relatives, age, and known locations (all of which are blacked out in the example below). Once you have found your personal record, click “REMOVE THIS RECORD”.
Step 3: Enter your email and confirm that you are not a robot via their captcha. You will be sent an email, so make sure you have access to that email. Click “SEND CONFIRMATION EMAIL” once you are ready. If you cannot find the email, check your spam folder.
Step 4: Find the email from Truthfinder in your inbox and click "Confirm Opt-out".
It should take you roughly 5-15 minutes to complete this opt-out process.
Generally speaking, you should expect TruthFinder to take 15-30 business days to remove your information from their website.
Your information could be added back to TruthFinder in the future, however, there is no guarantee and you will not be notified when it happens. If you want to make sure your personal information stays off their website, you will need to actively monitor it or subscribe to an identity monitoring service like Dataseal.
TruthFinder offers your information to its users in the form of a report which will include your personal contact details such as name, address, phone number, and other details.
TruthFinder gathers information from various sources across the web in order to compile records of every individual in their database. The majority of this information is found by scraping publicly available resources such as court records, warranty cards, and mortgage deeds, however, they may also purchase bulk data from unofficial websites to further expand their database.
